Supreme Leadership Youth Academy will be taking a delegation of youth to Africa (Egypt and Ghana) in the summer of 2008. We believe our youth are due a cultural and educational journey to Africa to gain an historical perspective that connects past “lost” cultural traditions to present “life” choices. During there time in Africa they will participate in workshops that will include topics of discussions on leadership in the 21st century from the youth perspective. Also, they will engage in dialogue on how to resolve conflict to bring about global peace. There are long and short term benefits of this trip for the youth who will be traveling as well as the City of Birmingham. The youth who will be traveling abroad will return to share there experience with youth with similar back grounds and be a motivation to them. On behalf of Supreme Leadership Youth Academy, I would like to invite you to join our fundraising efforts by giving a financial contribution towards Project Youth 2 Africa. Our goal is to raise $60,000.00 for this educational experience. Your contribution will be used to secure lodging, ground and air transportation, Supreme Leadership Youth Academy would not be able to provide a successful program without the generous support of our community. We are expecting at least 16 of our youth to be a part of the delegation. The youth who will be representing the City of Birmingham, have been selected because of there participation in our eight week training sessions which included leadership development and conflict resolution training. We believe these young people will be outstanding representatives of the City of Birmingham, the State of Alabama as well as the United States of America. Your sponsorship would continue to show your great community involvement as well as making Project Youth 2 Africa an overwhelming success.
